Much of his time was spent working in the SMU-1 unit, where some of the most seriously mentally ill patients in the state prison system are housed. For the past two years, he was employed as a licensed vocational nurse at the Arizona State Prison Complex – Eyman in Florence. He has worked as a correctional officer and a police officer, as well as a correctional nurse.
